My art piece, inspired by the artistic works of Kazimir Malevich, is an acrylic painting depicting the broken and lonely feelings many are experiencing in this quarantine. Many parts of our lives are put on hold and almost feel like they were shattered. The geometric objects in the painting are very representational of that. Circles often symbolize the natural world while squares can be a model of the man-made and human world as it is perfectly 90 degrees. These two worlds, my worlds, have felt like they are behind bars currently, and can't escape. Although it may be hard to break free of these constraints and emotions of feeling trapped and stuck, there is always something to look forward to. That is why there are gaps of white space in the painting. We now should look for those gaps of light and hope in our lives.
