For a project focusing on support, I decided to depict one form of support for the people who can’t go to work or school because of the Corona-virus outbreak. This creation, a nail-string art piece, represents the technological support Zoom or other online video chats are providing individuals with during this hard time. The online chats have given people access to a new way of worldwide communication. Although individuals can no longer leave their general area, people can talk and meet with others half-way across the world. Teachers can connect with their students, friends can talk with one another easily, and lots of stress is being relieved. People don’t have to put their lives on pause because they can just continue with this type of support. I find this technological advancement inspiring for our generation and I really wanted to portray this in my mixed media piece.
