The Night Before Mardi Gras

Inspired by my childhood in Metairie, Louisiana, this oil painting captures the vivid memories and atmosphere of Mardi Gras in New Orleans—the quiet, rain-washed streets, lamplight, and colorful skies on the night before the celebration. Though I'm Jewish, Mardi Gras was a cherished part of my upbringing, and I hoped to express the warmth, excitement, and lingering beauty of those moments through my art.
